Terms of Service

What Rydar is

Rydar is a community trust layer for public transit across the cities and regions we support — currently including Puerto Rico, Barbados, and several U.S. metros: trip planning, live crowd-sourced bus positions, rider reports, and Rider Secrets. Transit information — including schedules, positions, and confidence scores — is provided on a best-effort basis and may be inaccurate or delayed. Always use your own judgment; do not rely on Rydar alone for time-critical or safety-critical decisions.

Your account

You’re responsible for your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Provide accurate information and don’t impersonate others.

Community content & conduct

• Post honest, useful reports and Secrets. Don’t post false, harassing, hateful, or unlawful content.
• You keep ownership of what you post, and grant Rydar a license to display, distribute, and moderate it within the service.
• We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms or harm the community.

Location sharing

When you run a guided ride, you consent to sharing your live location as an anonymized bus position with nearby riders for the duration of that ride. On mobile, so the bus stays visible when you put your phone away, this continues while the app is in the background or your screen is locked, and it stops when you end the ride. Sponsored content & offers

• Rydar Nearby shows public places and sponsored offers, always labeled. Sample offers shown during the pilot are for demonstration and are not real participating merchants.
• Offers, coupons, prices, hours, and availability are provided by the merchant, who is solely responsible for their accuracy and for honoring them. Coupons may carry restrictions and expiration dates, and a coupon counts as redeemed only when the merchant confirms it.
• Rydar is not a party to any transaction between you and a merchant and is not responsible for goods or services they provide.
• Rydar may review, reject, pause, or remove any merchant, offer, or campaign at its discretion, and separates paid placement from the free listing of genuinely useful places.

Jobs & housing listings

• Rydar shows jobs and rental listings alongside transit context. Sample listings shown during the pilot are for demonstration and are not real openings or rentals.
• Employers and housing providers are solely responsible for the accuracy of their listings, including pay, shifts, rent, fees, availability, and requirements. Rydar does not verify every detail and never guarantees a listing is legitimate.
• Rydar does not make hiring decisions, host applications, screen tenants, approve rentals, or collect deposits or fees. Applying to a job or contacting a provider takes you directly to that party off-platform.
• Transit Fit is a best-effort estimate from schedule data and may be inaccurate; confirm service before accepting a shift or signing a lease.
• Housing is kept neutral with respect to protected characteristics: listings use objective property, price, availability, accessibility, and rider-selected transit criteria only. Never send money before confirming a property and the person offering it.
• Rydar may review, reject, pause, or remove any listing at its discretion and requires listing expiration.

Disclaimers

Rydar is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee that buses run on time, that a route or stop is accurate, or that the service will be uninterrupted. Rydar is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any transit agency or operator in the cities we cover — including, in Puerto Rico, ATI and AMA. Operator names and route designations are used only to identify service.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rydar and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for missed buses, delays, or decisions made based on the app.

Changes, termination & law

We may update these terms; continued use means you accept the changes. You may stop using Rydar at any time, and we may suspend accounts that violate these terms. Rydar operates across multiple jurisdictions; except where local law requires otherwise, these terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, where Rydar is based, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
